Presenter Karen Steele

Karen Steele is a graduate of Fairmont State University and Virginia Commonwealth University. She has taught at JSRCC since 1991, and has also taught at Virginia Commonwealth University, Longwood University, and John Tyler Community College. Ms. Steele was Administrator-Curator of Wilton House Museum.
 

The Presentation

Ms. Steele presents on medieval art, which is filled with complex symbolism tied to religious and political thinking. She discusses how medieval art exhibits remnants of classical art, mixed Christian theology, and emerging naturalism.
